OBSERVATIONS 25 DCMR CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
47. - There is an unseal wood surface at the bar handsink.  1408.1 Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment that are exposed to splash, spillage, or other food soiling or that require frequent cleaning shall be constructed of a corrosion resistant, nonabsorbent, and smooth material.  
47. - Sinks are not sealed to the wall.  1701.1 Equipment that is fixed because it is not easily movable shall be installed so that it is: (a) Spaced to allow access for cleaning along the sides, behind, and above the equipment; (b) Spaced from adjoining equipment, walls, and ceilings a distance of not more than one millimeter (1 mm) or one thirty-second of an inch (1/32 in.); or (c) Sealed to adjoining equipment or walls, if the equipment is exposed to spillage or seepage.  
49. - Bar refrigerator interiors are unclean.  1900.3 Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris.  
52. - There is a direct connection between the prep sink, 3-compartment sink and dishmachine with a sewage line.  2602.1 Except as specified in Sections 2602.2 through 2602.4, a direct connection shall not exist between the sewage system and a drain originating from equipment in which food, portable equipment, or utensils are placed. 53. - The toilet room door is not self-closing.  2911.1 Toilet rooms shall not open directly into a room used for the preparation of food for service to the public and shall be provided with a tight-fitting and self-closing door in accordance with the D.C. Plumbing Code (2008) incorporating the International Plumbing Code (2006) or most recent edition, as amended by the D.C. Plumbing Code Supplement (subtitle F of 12 DCMR). Pf  
55. - There are unnecessary items stored in the rear of the restaurant.  3213.1 The premises shall be free of: (a) Items that are unnecessary to the operation or maintenance of the establishment such as equipment that is nonfunctional or no longer used; and (b) Litter.  
56. - There is an inoperable Type 1 hood. The pizza oven is located outside the exhaust area of this hood despite plans showing it underneath this hood.  1509.3 The ventilation system in connection with hoods shall be operated at the required rate of air movement, and classified grease filters shall be in place when equipment under a kitchen grease hood is used in accordance with the D.C. Fire Code (2008) incorporating the International Fire Code (2006) or most recent edition as amended by the D.C. Fire Code Supplement, as amended (subtitle H of 12 DCMR). P  
56. - The lights under the Type 1 hood are neither sheilded, coated, shatter-resistant nor operable.  2908.2 Shielded, coated, or otherwise shatter-resistant bulbs need not be used in areas used only for storing food in unopened packages, if: (a) The integrity of the packages cannot be affected by broken glass falling onto them; and (b) The packages are capable of being cleaned of debris from broken bulbs before the packages are opened.
